Lily Companions here is my favorite....show us yours!

Upper Saint Clair, PA(Zone 6a)

Just had to post my favorite planting. Candy Club Lily and Blue Paradise Phlox. Some years they are perfectly timed, other years, like this year, the phlox bloomed before the lilies. The stems on this lily are soooo thick that nothing moves them.

Oops - here's the picture.

Stunning group ya got there:) You're right to hope that they bloom together.

Nice arrangement, lin.

The hydrangeas in this garden makes a good companion for all of the lilies we have in it.

'San Souci' (thanks to Buggy Crazy - Lisa).

The Actea 'Lingerie' (dark leaves at the left) match the papillae of the 'Scheherazade' lilies well.

'David' white phlox and astilbe are good playmates as well.

You sure choose your playmates well!

Oooooh, I love them all. I never thought of yarrow. I also love the dark colored leaves and, I have a hydrangea patch that could use some lilies. I was just trying to find every place I can put some as I always want more and more. Here is one I forgot about that came up in the daisy patch. The daisy patch really expanded with all the rain we had in June.

What creative ideas.....thanks so much !

VERY pretty, Lin. Love the whole feel for the photo.

Thanks, Moby! The astilbes in the one photo had a shorter than usual bloom period with all the heat.

The Crazy Daisies here just made the whole composition "Bland and Blander" - couldn't raise a heartbeat. The Stargazers and Dizzy don't bloom for quite awhile after the Umbria is done. I'll have to add a lily to give the spot some oomph but I say it every year and never get to doing it.

Great combinations and photos, Jack.

What kind of plant is Lorraine Sunshine? I love the leaves.

The Casa Blanca and Ipomopsis is glorious.

Thanks, Moby. I love that plant.

Wow, great ideas. I have Loraine and, of course, Rudbeckia. I started my Loraine from seed from Summerhill Seeds this year. Again, thanks for the ideas, they are beautiful!

Great photo's everyone !!! WOW what eye candy.
Candy Club Lily and Blue Paradise Phlox is a gorgeous combination, have to make a note of that :-)
'San Souci' and Hydrangeas are simply stunning together and I also love the combination of the daisies which I do have but my biggest disappointment is that I was hoping for my roses or at least some of them would bloom together with the lilies. They did with the daylilies.

Great pictures everyone.

I must admit, all of the great ideas has me tucked inside today on this super hot day in Western, PA, looking over my plants and researching lilies. Thanks to everyone! I guess you can put a lily just about anywhere and it will be great :) Linda

OHHHHHH Linda, you are a gonner now.
The realization there are endless places for lilies will get you into trouble here.
Enablers lurk around every corner helping you expnd your knowlege of lilies spaces and companions.
I am a recet happy victim, with 80 new varieties and a total ov over 300 bulbs in 90 varieties.
I am totally helpless where these plants are concerned.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

LOL The first step is admitting you have a problem. Then... so what?!

The first step takes a nanno[second compared to the rest of the spending and planning and searching and digging.
Hey what else is there to do all winter.

Upper Saint Clair, PA(Zone 6a)

Wow, I want to see pictures of those 300 bulbs! Oh, I admitted I had a problem years ago....I just keep morphing to new plants. I didn't want to get into lilies until I was mostly happy with the placement of plants in the gardens cause I moved things around so many times that I always dug into bulbs! Of course, my new passion is delphinium....starting 11 varieties I am going to try to overwinter and plant in the spring. Of course, I can interplant them with lilies to bloom in between their bloom time --- already thought of that :)

I am away until Tuesday but when I get home I will send pix of my bloomeing lilies.
