I purchased a spent pair of oriental (After Eight) lily bulbs whose pot had just been marked down to $1.98 at Home Depot yesterday. I know that oriental lilies are sometimes touchy about coming back each year anyway, so I'm trying to find the best way to work with them for some bloom next year. Do I leave them in their pot for now? If so for how long? Or would I be better off going ahead and putting them in the ground now? I would really appreciate any advice you could give.

Lily help needed, please.
Go ahead and plant them, they'll get settled in nicely. Don't worry if they die back early ~ they usually do as the flowering is 'forced' for the market place. Next year they will be on a regular schedule.
yes plant them, lily bulbs shrink when confined to a pot!
You're a gem, Lisa. I have over 100 in pots, to be certain they were the right name and color, etc., so now I'll get busy planting them.
Thank you so much for the good advice. I will get a spot prepared and put them to bed. I'm really looking foreward to seeing their pretty faces next summer.
