I went through three pages of comments and saw only one DG name I recognized. To my way of thinking that is not the best of news. If I saw the regular people who post on the Lily Forum I'd have much more faith in them.
Thanks pirl,
you're so right.
You know a lot of members here on DG so I think I'll wait.Maybe somebody else will have good sales with great reputation.
I got excellent deals on bulbs from Blooming Bulbs. All were well priced and true to name.
Hi Pirl,
You got VERY luck on your blooming bulb order!
But yours were the absolute, hands down BEST. I'm still in awe of 'Stunning', which bloomed for three weeks and 'Firestar' was no slouch and the colors were like fireworks. 'San Souci' is indescribably wonderful. So far, and it's only open a week, I have taken at least 50 photos of it.
All of yours, Lisa, were true to name. That isn't always the case with lilies.
We will all miss you terribly. I'll beg you to return if that will help.
Is this San Souci ?
Yes, it is. I just wish I could transport the scent as easily as the photo. It's divine.
San Souci is absolutely breathtaking!
Just love the speckles and outline.
Superb Buggy!
I NEED more lilies !!!!!!!!! ;0)
Gloria
I have ordered plants from AM as well as bulbs. The bulbs were fine but the plants were horrible, rotted and dead when they arrived.
Tulips from the estate collection were true to color.Thats the deal with bulbs. Many are not the colors we order.
How can you miss with a bulb thats dorment when it's shipped.
If I needed more lilies I would even order bulbs from the worst mail order plant place in my experience," van Bourgundien."
I agree with Pirl,Buggy Crazy is the best and generous with her counting not to mention large sized bulbs that really put out the first year.We miss you BC.
Buggy is the best!
San Souci is an old cut flower variety, displaced once Stargazer took over the marketplace. Unlike some of the other bulbs, like Daffodils, older lily varieties tend to just disappear (due in part to virus eventually killing them off if not managed properly).
What precautions should I take with it?
I also would be very much interested in finding out.Especially since I have lilies in my gardens but always just been so involved with roses, peonies, daylilies.
I have several varieties of lilies which I added here and there but would like to really learn more about these viruses and what to look for etc.
Also ,which other lilles we might have to have the same concern with ?
San Souci is on my wishlist especially since I saw pirls photo above.
