Ok Richard, did Sue get all your Blue Gingers? not the drooping one the upright one. I need one added to my order. Didn't realize you had one them. What is the proper name? Wish I could get up there....sounds like Sue had a ball!

I don't understand why there are not more people hooked on Gingers. Now I like Hostas and have a good many but I will take a Ginger any day. There are so many people hooked on Hostas that have never even seen a Ginger bloom. The thing I love most about Gingers is the wide variety they come in, from Hedychiums to Cornukaempferia, you just got to love them.

Richard, can you throw in a Dichorisandra thyrsiflora and I can add to your list as well, thanks.

ken....you got that correct...after my recent introduction to this lovely group of plants, to me it's a NO brainer when it comes to using ginger in tropical zones. most r tolerate to the cold many to heat and many can take little water. some for shade, some for direct sun...most spread nicely...then produce blooms that would make even the most sour of us smile....i can provide you with most all the latin names of trees...but when it comes to these gingers i"m lost!!

i had over 100 hostas in my last garden....not because i LOVED them, but i had such a large shaded garden area they filled space nicely. i never got excited about them like these gingers!!!

sic....he had both the reg blue and the drooping ones....i was so ahhhhhing and ooohhhhing so much over other types that i'm not even certain which i got!!....richard knows!!

i was truly like a kid in a candy shop!! what's this...??? what's that.....

the black one with the sliver leaf....now of course i don't know what's it called...but who even cares about the bloom on that one??? the leaves are so extraordinary by themselves!
