This insect was found yesterday at the base of a Cottonwood tree. It appeared out of nowhere when I was planting aroundthe tree.
It is about 2" long, with probably 2" long or better antennae. Can anyone identify?

It is a cottonwood borer, Plectrodera scalator (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) - see http://tinyurl.com/opw45a for a fact sheet.
