Hello,
This is my first year having coneflowers. I would like to harvest the seeds. I have waited until the blooms have faded to snip off the heads. Do I need to allow them to dry in place or is it a good idea to snip before the blooms become unattractive?
Are the seeds in the center of the bloom?
Harvesting Coneflower Seeds
Is it Echinacea or Ratbida coneflower? Echinacea should dry in place - here's a link to a pic of the finished seeds:

If it's Ratbida I'm not as sure, but generally leaving seeds in place till dried is best.
