All three of my dogs are on allergy meds. I use sliced process cheese to get them to swallow. Pinch off a small piece, just enough to mold around the pill or capsule, and they slide right down. It's a ritual now every morning. First fresh water, then the little scoop of can food, then the meds. They think they are getting treats, one slice lasts almost a week, it's cheap, and that little bit of cheese doesn't make 'em fat--or constipated. LOL I've heard butter works, too, but it seems to messy to me. What tricks have you used?
How do you get your dog or cat to take medication?
