A South Florida Winged Reddish Bug - I NEED HELP!!!

Boca Raton, FL

We live in South Florida and these 1/2" bugs have been appearing several daily mainly near or in the bathroom usually dead although we saw one climbing up the wall last evening. Occasionally we see them in other parts of the house. They have wings although we have never seen them fly and we don't know where they could be coming from nor what the name of the bug is. I have tried checking out databases but have not seen anything close other than a False Honey Ant Winged Queen and this does not make sense because they are not in the kitchen nor is there any food for them where I find them.
We very recently had a new roof installed and 3 or 4 new large pieces of plywood were used although we doubt this could have any bearing.
Very frustrated and would appreciate any help we can get!
Thanks.

If this is an ant, it more likely is a male than a queen. It may even be a parasitic (on insects, not humans!) wasp, but I would like to see a view of the upper (dorsal) side of one of these that clearly shows the wing venation and the base of the antennae. At any rate, it is not a structural pest of any kind.

Today (July 4th) I found 3 in my den dead behind a table. Here is another picture which might be clearer and closer.

This does look more like a male ant to me than anything else; it might even be a Florida carpenter ant. Unlike some of their northern cousins, these ants are not destructive, but use existing voids to make their nests. See http://tinyurl.com/26xcod3 for a fact sheet on Florida household ants.
