vossner, you rock!! The patch of Mickey Mouse made my eyes pop and the variegated orange is just beautiful.
I am no help with the orange flower, I have quite a few of them as well.

RachelLF, that is a great picture of your A. Portei. Thanks for doing all that research on the Philo. I will make a note of the name, I would hate to have to ask again. My memory is not what it used to be. lol
My plant is about 4 years old, I have it planted in the ground, in a raised bed of oak leaves, cow manure and compost with shredded oak leaves for mulch.

joeswife, my morning glories are blooming, but I have yet to beat the grasshoppers to them. That is a good picture of the hummer. I do have quite a few of them, but have not noticed before, how noisy they are. I have tried to get a few pictures of them but by the time I change setting on the camera, they have flown away.
Love the sweet pea flowers!!

Rachel this picture here: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=7945996 is awsome. Now I have to see where to get one of those at.

Rita, you need a great big fat Garden spider in your glories, that would take care of those grasshoppers.
I have yet to keep a bougie alive. Yours is awsome.

vossner - what "is" that Mickey Mouse ears ? How big, how much shade ? How hardy ? I "MUST " know LOL I'd google it but well, probably get a gazillion returns on "mickey mouse ears " ..might be just what I need if it's short /small enough to edge this bed...

Well never mind, I did google it, with adding variegated mickey mouse ears...it will be to big for that spot...but I might have another spot for it...maybe...

Over the past weekend I took my camera around my garden and came up with this collection of photos.

Two Alocasias, A. melo at the top I've had for a while and it does quite well spending all its time under the shade of a tree except for the morning sun it gets. Below is a new aquisition, was just labelled "Alocasia". Doesn't look as though it'll get any bigger than what is it now.

Most of my Anchomanes difformis are still growing, even though they're supposed to go dormant in winter. A couple did go dormant, but the irrigation missed them and they dried out. When I took the tubers out they were still good. Those still watered are showing no signs of dormancy.

Alocasia reginula seems to enjoy the winter weather, it put on a burst of growth. It's with the other Alocasias, morning sun then shade of a tree the rest of the day.

Winter has slowed down the growth of Xanthosoma robusta, but it's still looking good.

Philodendron cv Henderson's Pride. Took me a while to work out what's with the bottom leaf. That's the shadow from the leaf to it's right.

Euphorbia "Snow Flakes", the closest we get to snow flakes in winter. A small to large shrub covered with these white flowers and bracts. You just can't see the leaves for the flowers.

Palm tree in flower. believe it's Ptychosperma but not sure which species.

Everyone's garden is beautiful. I don't know what happened to my 'watches' but they all went so now doing searching for all my friends.

HI....

Hap

Kept some Hibiscus cuttings in pots for a few years too long. When I planted them out something got at the leaves so now the plants look totally spindly but they're flowering.

"what happened to my 'watches' ". battery gone flat? Sorry, couldn't resist. You should be able to pick them up through the "Communities" tab.

Bougainvillea, what can I say about it?

LOL, Silly.

Heliconia still flowering.

This Allamanda is a real 'cast iron' plant. It's along the front fence copping all the dust from the road (I've a dirt road out front). Gets no water so now in our dry season the ground is baked dry. But it keeps growing and flowering prolifically.

Angiopteris evecta, King Fern. Well, maybe a bit small for "King Fern", perhaps we'll just say "Prince Fern" for now.

A young Carpentaria acuminata (palm), love the bifid leaves on these when they're small.

This is a small banana with purple upright flowers, when eventually it flowers. But up to now it's produced 4 pups and no sign of a flower spear.

A NOID fern, but looks great in its hanging pot. One of those "rabbit's foot" ones, except the rhizome is slender and grows really fast.

A "sword-leaf" Dracaena that's trying to out compete all my Mother-in-Law's Tongues in perfume. But it's outnumbered by hundreds. The fragrance is a beautiful sweet talc, nicer than the MILs Tongues.

All my mangoes have started flowering.

Bought this one recently labelled Carludovica palmata (Panama Hat Palm). It's actually an Asplundia, probably martiana. I'd been after one for a while but under the name Asplundia they were more expensive.

I'll finish for tonight with this Turnera. There's still more photos, but for another night.

Hi All. It is a pleasure to see everyone posting, Rj, Texasbigleaves and phughes are still missing.
So many new plants, so little time and money. I would like to have one of each plant shown.

This is my best palm.

The Alociasa Okinawa silver is another good, slow growing plant that would make a good border and can handle a little freezing tempurature.
The A. Bambino series is a new one for me this year, so far it is getting an A+ from me.

This is my mother's favorite part of my garden. On her last visit from Belize, she was not impressed with my topicals in the least, but she loved the Phlox and the pink skull cap.

Plumeria Pudica is blooming, it is so tall and has flowers only on the top, where she gets the most sunshine. I will have to whack her back to eye level.
