never seen this spider in new mexico
I first though that this would turn out to be a giant crab/huntsman spider (family Sparassidae), but then its leg positions and the orange chelicarae bases threw me off that track. It also resembles a wandering spider (family Ctenidae), but all the ones I am aware of that look like these images appear to occur no farther north than Central America. Would it be possible for you to obtain a clearer image that shows its eye pattern? Also, what is its approximate size (body length, leg span)?
