This is the last piks of this monster with over 30 blooms and a flat stem.

Its not known what causes this. Rogue genes is my explanation for any annomily. This includes an old person who cant spell.

Rogue genes is a term my daughter used when explaining some really ugly things in nature.
Its a real science term. LOL

A little mutation is not always a bad thing. I had only one bloom that was fasciated on a single stem. I don't think it is genetic as one of my stargazers had a fasciated (fused) stem 2 years ago, but last year and this year it has big, single stems.
