Mountain Laurels Seeds

Katy, TX

I have a lot of mountain laurels at my place in the Hill Country. I gathered seed pods last year and have them in a bucket. I would like to prepare them for planting in other spots. What do I need to do to prepare them for planting? I have had one guy that said to put them in a blender to scarify them and the put some muratic acid on them.

Thank you

You can try muratic acid or nick them with a file. I had great success once leaving them in a plastic container outside with a little moisture in it. You have to keep an eye on it though. Most of them will sprout quickly and need planting.
