CLOSED: What type of caterpillar (Fl)
This is a larva of a black swallowtail butterfly, Papilio polyxenes asterius (Lepidoptera: Papilionidae). They feed primarily on members of the parsley family; we often find them in our garden on parsley or dill. See http://tinyurl.com/mztqfr for more detailed information.
