CLOSED: Unknown nighttime visitor

Brackenridge, PA

For the last few nights, I've found several of these in my bed. My first thought was *gasp* bed bugs... but after careful inspection of the bed and bedding, I found no traces. I managed to catch one of these and get a relatively good picture of it. It doesn't appear to be a bed bug, but I'm curious if anyone can identify what this is. Also, just an FYI: the tick marks on the measure represent 1/8 inch.

These look like beetles in the family Dermestidae, that includes carpet/hide/skin beetles, etc. Check any wool/silk fabrics you may have (including carpeting and draperies) as well as any furs, taxidermy mounts, etc. for signs of chewing damage. It's the larvae of beetles in this family that do the damage; the adult beetles primarily are pollen feeders.
