Does anyone know what this is, the body was about the size of a quarter

This appears to be a female Dolomedes tenebrosus (family Pisauridae), a species known as the dark fishing spider. See http://tinyurl.com/mfgda6 and http://tinyurl.com/lcoygx for images and more information.

Thank you, I do believe that is what it is. We live across from the White River in Indianapolis, so that would make sense. I am glad I am not a fish!
