CLOSED: I think this is some kind of fly, but what kind???

I think this is a member of Diptera, but does anyone know what kind?

This is a vinegar/pomace fly (Diptera: Drosophilidae) in the (so far) genus Drosophila (see http://tinyurl.com/2d8v8j3 for an example. This genus includes the famous genetics laboratory species, Drosophila melanogaster, but it also contains more than a thousand other species, and currently faces major revision, so that many species currently included in this genus may be moved others.

suunto, thanks, and I've used fruit flies to study genetics. I recall once that a fellow student had anesthetized hers in order to collect some data on eye color and sex of the F1's. Well, her boyfriend showed up and she began talking to him, and talked for a while. Guess what sleeping flies did?
