What kind of bug is this?

Omaha, NE

Sorry for the bad pic, I had pic taken with my old camera phone at the hospital, this thing burrowed its way deep in my ear canal so I was just curious what it is. Thanks in advance for any help.

Isn't that a roach?

And by the way.... how did you find out you had a bug burrowed in your ear? Nothing personal, but "ew"...lol... I couldn't imagine that!

I stepped outside at night and the light next to door was on and I immediately felt something land on my ear, I tried to shake it out, but it burrowed in deep enough where I couldn't see it, but I definitely felt it and every couple seconds it would try flapping its wings or something like crazy, can't describe how it felt but it was very creepy and uncomfortable. It was funny, when I went to ER to get i removed they thought I was lying like a hypochondriac or on a lot of drugs It took so much water pressure to force it out (it was in very tight) it damaged my ear drum.

This appears to be a small moth that simply blundered in; it then likely became disoriented in its attempts to escape, resulting in it becoming lodged deeper in the ear canal. The traumatic removal was unfortunate; insects in the ear canal often are first killed with either lidocaine (an anesthetic) or mineral oil. Gentle warm water irrigation then should effect their removal.
