Some kind of Daddy Long Legs? ...

This is a harvestman, an arachnid in the order Opiliones - see http://tinyurl.com/nul2ad for some examples. They sometimes are called daddy long-legs, but that common name also has been applied to other unrelated arthropods.

Thanks suunto!

I have heard tales about these daddy long leg spiders. I have heard that they are the most poisonous spider to humans but that they cannot penetrate the skin with their bite. Is this true suunto??? Just curious.

As far as I can remember, Harvestmen do not have poison glands.

That is true - see http://tinyurl.com/5fbka7 for details on their biology. I have no idea where the 'urban legend' about their venom got started; it also has been applied to cellar spiders (family Pholcidae).

Thanks for the info, good to know that not all legends are true, lol.
