Hello!
I found this dragonfly sunning on an iris plant about two hours ago. I spent most of the interim time trying to get a name for the beastie, but alas, 'twas to no avail.
My location is north central Wisconsin, about 90 minutes east of St. Paul, MN.

This appears to be a male Macromia illinoiensis (Odonata: Macromiidae); known either as an Illinois river cruiser or a swift river cruiser - see http://tinyurl.com/2abz2oy
