Hello!
I found this dragonfly sunning on an iris plant about two hours ago. I spent most of the interim time trying to get a name for the beastie, but alas, 'twas to no avail.
My location is north central Wisconsin, about 90 minutes east of St. Paul, MN.
Thanks for any help.

This appears to be a male Macromia illinoiensis (Odonata: Macromiidae); known either as an Illinois river cruiser or a swift river cruiser - see http://tinyurl.com/2abz2oy
Thank you!!
