We live in Auburn, AL and have had several of these guys skitter across the floor. This is the biggest one so far, so i thought i'd try to identify it to see whether we should be worried about it. We have a 12week old in the home. Thanks in advance.

This is a wolf spider (family Lycosidae) in the genus Rabidosa; likely Rabidosa rabida - see http://tinyurl.com/23doesg for an image. These are active hunters hat often enter buildings in their search for prey. Although large wolf spiders are capable of inflicting a painful bite, they are not dangerous, and there is little risk of being bitten unless you actually pick one up carelessly.
i always have these around in my house. never had a problem with getting bit by one, but they sure do scare the heck out of you when you see them lol
Yep, this is a Wolf Spider. I live in LA and see them all the time.
