There are tons of these little bugs crawling around my back yard. They are not just in my plants and weeds, but also on my patio furniture and the outside walls of my house. They are very small- about the size of a baby cricket, maybe a little larger. I'd really like to know what they are. Please help! Thank you!
This appears to be a nymph of a seed bug in the superfamily Lygaeoidea - have you noticed any other insects with a similar shape and coloration but with fully developed wings?
I haven't seen any with similar coloration, but I have seen several red/black insects that look like small beetles. I think they are called Milkweed bugs.
We have stink bugs around this way that look like that.
