Mason's Congo Sansevieria (Sansevieria masoniana)

Port Richey, FL(Zone 9a)

Hello! Could you please tell me if this plant is actually a Sansevieria masoniana and if so, do you know the name? I'm trying to identify a dwarf plant I have and the photo you posted looks exactly like it. All the masoniana varieties I see on the internet don't look like what I have. The variety I have is a dwarf. The leaves are no more than 4 inches long by 2 inches wide. THANK YOU for your time!

It seems to be IDed incorrectly for sure.

I would have said I have seen a ton like yours but now I can't find one online. LOL Are your leaves as flat as the 1 shown? Does yours have a more pronounced pattern to the leaves? The red edged ones I have seen their leaves are thicker and with a pronounced curve upwards like the 2 images below. There are so many birdnest shaped ones.

Oddly in my search, I see sansevieria have been now classified as dracaenas. I had no clue and just do not see the similarities though DNA does not lie.

Mine are as flat as the one shown in cactus_lover's post.....at least as flat as it looks from the camera angle. The photos you posted ZilyZily are of another variety. I saw the re-classification too, and also searched under dracaenas to no avail. The plant I have is a cutting from a collector that I received about 18-19 years ago. I gave the cutting to my mom and she had since lost the ID information. Mine may be a hybrid because the collector had dozens of different varieties all blooming year around and I know she planted seeds from her plants.

I've uploaded a couple of photos from my plant. This little guy grows in a crazy mess. I have tried growing in a regular pot only to have it push itself out of the pot because of the new shoots.

Hi again. Sorry, I have no clue. Yours to me is not the same as the 1 you posted first. Yours has those great rippled edges which adds so much interest. It reminds me of a new cultivar Sansevieria Kirkii Silver Blue without the great variegation.

I wonder who the parents are. Yours is 20 years old but still could share a parent.

Thank you ZilyZily for taking another look. The one you posted is gorgeous! Looking at the photo that cactus_lover posted, that one does look more upright and not as ripple-y at the edges. Oh well....I will continue to enjoy the plant regardless. Thank you again!

Oops my last message was too fast. Maybe you're right, it could be silver blue... I have one silver blue at home but did not really look like that...
