CLOSED: What is this?

Dover AFB, DE(Zone 7a)

It is very fast, runs in a zig-zag pattern and shows up in rooms that have drains in the floors. Does it swim through the pipes to get here or does it crawl under doors? Are they poisonous? They sure are creepy....
Thanks ^_^

Its easy its called a Scutigera coleoptrata. (one of several species commonly known as the house centipede), is a typically yellowish-grey centipede with 15 pairs of legs. Originally endemic to the Mediterranean region, the species has spread to other parts of the world, where it usually lives in human homes. It is an insectivore; it kills and eats arthropods such as insects and arachnids. It is also known as a "mustache bug" in certain cultures, and "thousand-leggers" in others, and in many places of America are (mistakenly) referred to as silverfish. There not poisons

Unlike its shorter-legged but much larger tropical cousins, S. coleoptrata can live its entire life inside a building, usually the ground levels of homes. They are generally considered harmless to humans. Bites are not common, and the jaws of most house centipedes are not strong enough to penetrate human skin. Stings are generally no worse than a bee's sting, with its venom causing redness and mild to severe swelling.

hope that helps you out

If You had 15 pairs of legs I bet you would be fast too. Just Imagen your shoe bill. Or how bad Athletes foot could get. Not to mention the huge demand for pedicures. You know something else I trip over my own two feet all the time. Imagen tripping with 30 legs. LOL
