Seen in a bog in SE Mass.
Is This a Differential Grasshooper?
It sure doesn't look like one; differential grasshoppers were very common where I grew up, and I never saw a green one. I may have to get back to you later on this one.
I've seen Differential GHs at this spot before, but that was in the fall.
I must admit not being terribly confident about this, but your specimen does resemble the northern green-striped grasshopper, Chortophaga viridifasciata (Orthoptera: Acrididae) - see http://tinyurl.com/2dxkvk2 for an image.
I have seen this grasshopper in the feild where i used to play when I was a kid. I live in upstate NY an I have seen many types of grass hoppers an that is definitely one of them
