Please identify this bug on my bed. I have bites all over me

Saint George, UT

I have small red bites on my body all over me on my legs, hands, arms, stomach, e.t.c. I find about 4+ new bites on me every day.
A couple of days ago I found one of these bugs on me and killed it. I saw another one the next day, but it got away.(They are fast runners) Then today I finally found another; it was on my bed; I caught it and I took pictures of it. This bug has 8 legs and it is the size of an ant.
I don't feel any pain when being bitten. In fact on the first bites I didn't know I'd been bitten until it started itching.
Is this bug dangerous? What in the world is it? I'd sure like to know as soon as possible to find a way to get it out of my house.
Thanks so much in advance!

These spiders appear to be in the family Oecobiidae (wall spiders) - see http://tinyurl.com/23n9gap. They very commonly are found indoors, and are harmless to humans; appearing to feed primarily on ants. Something else must be responsible for the bite symptoms you are experiencing.

maybe you have chigger bites? or flea bites?

Thank you suunto for the ID. I let it go free outside this morning. =)
You could be right trackinsand. Thanks for your input.

I also found this bug in my glass of water right by my bed. Can someone ID this guy? Maybe this kind of bug is biting me. It's really small also about the size of an ant maybe a little smaller.
Thanks!

These appear to be fungus gnats (Diptera: Sciaridae) - see http://tinyurl.com/28e4dlq for an example. They do not bite. Trying to determine the cause of 'mystery bites' is extremely difficult unless you actually can capture the culprit(s) in the act of biting.

Thanks suunto. I've been looking around and it seems that this bug could also be a sand fly. What do you think?
I understand what you mean about it being hard to determine what is biting me, but I get bitten when I am sleeping and I don't even feel it. I did go to the dermatologist and he told me it was bug bites, but he isn't sure what kind of bug. His guess was that it probably was no see ums.
Thanks again!

True sand flies (Diptera: Psychodidae) are quite different in appearance (see http://tinyurl.com/29nhvy5), and in the southwestern US, appear restricted to semi-desert rangeland habitats; those in the southeast show a different habitat preference - see http://tinyurl.com/27oyxmx and http://tinyurl.com/27bto5a for articles. BTW, biting midges in the family Ceratopogonidae (punkies, no-see-ums, etc.) sometimes erroneously are referred to as sand flies.

i'm glad you cleared that up. i was wondering how "our" no-see-ums could fair in the southwest.

I just caught the culprit in action this morning when I was just waking up. It's definitely those flying things I posted a picture of. Thanks suunto for the pictures and the articles. Yes, you are right the sand flies are quite different. I don't know what these little things could be, but one things is for sure they are the ones causing my bite marks.
