Don't make a list, keep it to one attraction a day.
Vacation time
The one place in NJ I'd recommend is Wildwood. Great boardwalk with rides, places to eat and buy souvenirs. You need to try the salt water taffy, funnel cakes and pizza. The beach is HUGE plenty of room even if it's crowded.
Mount Rainier - fabulous views, wildlife & incredible hiking. Really a great place to see alpine wildflowers, too.
but it would probably be raining - we are known for our copious volume of rain, coffee, more rain, a bit more...
The Lake Erie Islands. They are great places for bike riding, hiking and wine tastings.
The Bronx- for the wildlife.
They certainly have some wildlife in da Bronx
Hee hee.
Central Park.
The town of Litchfield......old Colonial mansions on North street, cute little shops & restaurants, & White Memorial....thousands of acres to hike in, & a nice museum.
Nice places to stay, Robin?
Yes, the Litchfield Inn which is minutes from White Memorial....there must also be B&Bs around.
Don't like B&B's much. Feels like I'm in a stranger's house - and it is!
The fingerlakes region has many great places but I'll start with Belhurst Castle in Geneva on Seneca Lake since we just celebrated our anniversary there today. We've gone for dinner a few times and stayed the night once. The room has wine glasses set out, and in the hall, a spigot to fill them up. It was so much fun to go out into the hall and turn on the faucet to fill up your wine. We dined at a window table overlooking the lake and after we ate walked down and sat by the lake for a bit.

Wow! Gorgeous.
my yard:)
Funny how often the quick one or two-day getaways can be more refreshing than planned vacations. I think the planned ones are 'factored in', so they don't have the same effect.
That would be awesome to stay there.
Litchfield also has White Flower Farms to visit.
They say Litchfield, but it's really East Morris, which is just down the road a piece. That castle is stunning!
Been to WFF once. Was underwhelmed, though it was fall.
Usually, they have it looking pretty good, & the begonia greenhouse is awesome.
They had some kale in the flower beds last time I was there that was stunning! I hope I wrote the name down . . . somewhere . . .
Maine is known as Vacationland...need I say more? ^_^
Acadia National Park
Definitely a favorite vacationland for me!
Thats always nice to hear :)
I love it there, too...also the Marginal Way in Ogunquit, & just walking Kennebunk Beach or Parson's Beach.
If you like gambling there is, of course, Atlantic City. but you have to close your eyes driving thru the area to get there.
Blinders?
Oh Ya!
Any of the Glens in the FingerLakes region.Watkins Glen has great hiking trails and a famous race track.Tahganock Falls State Park/Highest falls east of the rockie mts.

i pretty much hike alone there all the time.
Not safe Bill! You carry a firearm? We bring one with us when we camp Up North, but I have to say we've never had to use one yet. However...we almost got trampled by Moose one night in our tent!! LOL
no firearms or cell phones allowed in the park.
Ahhhh, must be why Brian doesn't EVER stay in Baxter....always on the outskirts :)
Firecrackers to scare the bears away....worked for my stepson & his wife.
Cape May. Lots of old Victorian houses with lots of 'gingerbread' A painter could have a great job there. The lighthouse and beach.
Adirondacks - one of the last truly isolated places left in the NE.
We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Adirondacks
Camden, Maine a beautiful, picturesque town on the coast of Maine.
