CLOSED: Eating my hardy Hibiscus?

Clinton, CT(Zone 6b)

My Hardy Hibiscus is just coming up and I noticed holes in the leaves! Poor thing! Looking closer, I see these flies. Check them out, is this what is eating it? There were about 3 on the plant at the time.

This is a sawfly (Hymenoptera: Tenthredinidae) - see http://tinyurl.com/33h8g45 for one in the genus Eriocampa.

Oops - I owe you an apology on this one - I looked too hastily at it the first time around; it actually is a hibiscus sawfly in the family Argidae - see http://tinyurl.com/23qcsxh for an image. Sawflies in this family have very characteristic antennae that have only three segments; the third segment bring much longer than the others combined. Also see the other hibiscus post re: control measures.

I bought a BAYER product that says it will kill everything including sawflies and rose slugs for 30 days. I doused it! Hope it works! Thanks for the advice.

They start out as little greenish worm larvae eating your leaves to lace so look closely.
