wanna brighten somebody's day?

Victoria, TX(Zone 9b)

Got a friend who's not feeling well?
Down in the dumps?
Not a happy camper?

Put together a happy pill set! :) I did it for a friend at home who is ' under the weather ', and it did a world of good.

1. Gather up the following:
-your favorite generic tupperware containers, medium or small size.
-jelly beans = any flavors, any varieties
-starlight mints
-any other general candy that's small and wrapped.
-ribbon, rafia, whatever suits ya for tying
-a few index cards
-scissors, tape, crayons, pen, marker, glue
-pretty colored tissue paper

2. Take the containers, line them with a sheet or two of tissue paper.

3. Fill 'em up with the candy pieces of your choice. Don't close it up yet!

4. Take the index card and write either this message on it, or something similar..

Feeling sad or alone? Take two, and think a dozen happy thoughts.

5. Cut the card to size, and tape or glue it to the lid. Put the lid on... seal it tight so the goodies don't fall out.

6. Add any decorative flowers or smilies all about the container if your markers will stick. (I guess you could even add stickers here...)

7. Tie some ribbon or rafia around the container to pretty it up a bit.

8. Mail or give to your friend 'in need.'

I think this works well in place of flowers at the hospital, and I know it's great for a friend far away from you. I sent mine (along with some other goodies) across the state of PA last week, and it arrived safe, and really made some folks smile.

Happy "Cheering Up"

Angelsong, now I know how you got your name. I have an elderly lady who lives alone in my neighbor hood. I try to take a couple of treats over and say "I've come for tea!' every few day. This is just a great idea. Also, have a neice back east that is going to be in the hospital for a while...she gets one too! Thanks. Jo

Great idea, Angelsong! I love it! :o) I made a prescription bottle up for my hubby - made a label that looked like a real one and taped it to the outside of an old bottle. I put little notes in it telling him what I love about him. You could do this for anyone, not just a spouse or SO. :o)
