Keeping cuttings fresh until planted

Plantmum6 American Canyon, CA(Zone 9a) May 27, 2010

I am wondering if it is ok to leave cuttings in a glass of water for up to 24 hours before getting them settled into their pots? I often take the cuttings one day and then get them all set up the next.
