LOL, Carrie - I just couldn't resist! HAHA!!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

LOL back at you!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i saw that louise before you responded and was going to ask carrie a question about it

so i guess now i can leave the wheel barrel home and put any rock i want on carrie's lap and roll her to the car:)

Thomaston, CT

I just saw a pink quartz rock in one of my walls....it's probably been there forever, & I just noticed it!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

what are the directions to your home and when will you be out of the house?

Shelburne Falls, MA(Zone 5a)

Once I know who is coming I will dmail everyone coming except Patti who has been here a bunch! I sure hope something is blooming. My peak is earlier than I expected! Yes, it's a Sunday. DH will be in good company. This is today!!!!

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

I do hope I can make it, but we are going up this week, so I am not sure about the next, as we have to be up on the following too. Worth the trip no matter if it is peak Iris or not. Believe me it will be chockablock filled with all sorts of other goodies. Patti

Thomaston, CT

I agree....Kathy's gardens are awesome.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

It will be a good experience for DH!

Shelburne Falls, MA(Zone 5a)

Yah, it will make you look less crazy compared to me!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

You calling me crazy? Or yourself? I get it, finally, just slow. No, Ray thinks I am a Garden Goddess, and doesn't seem to notice that most of my plants are dead and that the containers are all growing weeds.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Is there a what we're bringing in terms of plants to share thread for this RU? I can bring some leftovers from my Bluestone 3-packs.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Kathy, I am so sorry, it looks like we won't be able to come after all. :( Blah. There's something else scheduled that Sunday, and if I were super-organized I would have been able to predict this conflict, but guess what? I'm not super-organized. I'm bummed, particularly because DH wants to add a few more colors to our 20 x 50' space and I'm saying: stop! Yellow and blue and red and pink is enough different colors. You cannot add magenta and orange and coral and purple and ... he wants it to look like a crayon box exploded!

Shelburne Falls, MA(Zone 5a)

Aw, too bad, Carrie. We will miss you. Looks like this will be the most intimate RU in the history of DG!!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Lol intimate! Take a lot of pictures, please. I'm sad I can't be there but glad I can go to my other event - you know, pulled in two directions at once .... had to choose.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I wish it were a few weeks from now.... would love to come visit.. way way way too crazy this year.... we even canceled our fathers day bash

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Sorry to hear that Allison, we postponed our Canada trip too :(

Thomaston, CT

We'll miss you guys!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

I would have love to come, Kathy, but I didn't know about it. You had mentioned in a D-mail that you wanted to do one, but thought it was short notice, and you didn't mention what date. Since I didn't hear back from you, I didn't know what you had decided, and, unfortunately for me, I don't always check what new threads are going on, as it's all I can do to keep up with the ones that I follow regularly. I do hope you all had a great time. I sure you did. It was wet here, but not raining. Didn't get anything done except take some pics. I would have come, too. Oh, well, next year, if you do it again. At least I got to go last summer.

Will you be coming to my RU in July? Let me know, so I can put you down on the list. It looks like a small gathering this year. That's okay, as there will be more DL's to go around to those who want to dig them.

Karen

Shelburne Falls, MA(Zone 5a)

So sorry Karen. Crazy end of school time of year so I didn't send d-mails but next year I will invite you! Don't think I will be coming to yours this year. I told a lot of folks I would be having an open daylily tour here this year. Which means lots to get done by mid July.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

I understand. I took 2 weeks off prior to my RU to get things in order here, plus I'm having 2 daylily sales the second 2 Saturdays in July, so I'll be really busy here. When will you be doing your daylily tour? Maybe I can make it. My sale days are the 10th and 17th, then my RU is the 18th. If your day isn't one of those, then I might see if I can come up. I'm going to see if any of the locals from the DG daylily forums might be able to come here for my RU.

Karen

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Maybe I can get DH out there then, Kathy! He's in one of his "there are only 5 colors represented here" moods. I'd like to show him how good five colors (or fewer) can look.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Well, unfortunately there aren't more than 5 colors in all, I think. There's just a huge variety of different shades of those colors. Let me see, there's blue, purple, pink, white, black, red, yellow, green, brown, orange, peach. Well, that's a lot more than 5. Then there's all the shades of each of those colors. White and black aren't true colors, and pink and peach are just red mixed with white and orange mixed with white. Oh, and I hate it when DL's are called blue, cause there aren't any blue ones. Same with the Blue Pearl impatiens (lavender), and the blue petunias (also lavender, or light purple). Oh, and blue roses. None there, either. And no true red TBI's.

Sorry, just me rambling here. I'm depressed over the dreary weather, and our friend Richard has an addiction to painkillers and has been in rehab twice. He's had a long history with drugs, and he's such a nice person, too. He really needs prayers, so anyone who can pray for him it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Karen

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

See, that's what I mean, it's varieties of the same couple of colors, so they go together. His idea is 9 clashing colors.

Shelburne Falls, MA(Zone 5a)

I'll be thinking of your friend Richard, Karen.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Thank you, Kathy. He was really a great help to us when he was living here, and he was always so polite and respectful. He was just the nicest person, but drug addictions make people do things they normally wouldn't do. It's just really sad.

Karen

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

good thoughts to him... yes it is amazing how it can change someone

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Thanks, Allison.

and a nice sib - the fly was following me all day! must have been the bug spray

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

everyone has been very generous at these ru's with their rocks - last fall louise and hank let me come back and hunt out a great large piece of granite for a seat and this year kathy was kind enough to let me grab two - although off property across the street.

with the sun out this photo does not do the stone justice - it has quartz in the back and the front is covered by heavy deep green lichen - very nice!

and yankee cat (memory) brought a very cool stone with crystals on the inside.

and i have to admit i "planted" these before the plants from the swap!

the second stone from kathy was a solid quartz rock - here it is already a part of the new wall with a nice home on the top layer!
