Now that is funny, a garden of laundry baskets. The lengths we will go to to protect plants...just shows how much you love them (and the dogs).
Late May & June Blooms (pt 1)
LOL Terri!! I figure by next year they will be a bit older and more settled down (wishful thinking I know). I have perennials mostly native so most will fair ok. If they are broken they will come back up next year.
I haven't posted much of my flowers but I know it is not too late. This was a first year combo and I liked it. The Easter Lilies have been there for years, but I added som Red Wine Monarda in the bed this year. Only the Monarda Beebalm is blooming now, but really putting on a show.
Sheila, how much shade does your monarda get?
That one is in full sun all day, but I have it other places that it gets only dappled morning sun for about 3 hours. The hummers love it.
Thanks for the info. I have a little start that I'd like to plant in an area that only gets a couple of hours of sun, then dappled shade, then finally shade. Think I'll give it a whirl!
If you would like more I have plenty of the 'rasberry wine'.
Thank you for the offer, Sheila, but I have a little piece that broke off of a Raspberry Wine plant that I've rooted and babied. It's now ready to plant, so I'm all set!
Stephanie....btw, if you have another partridge pea please hold it for me. The squirrels got on my seedling shelf and destroyed mine. They were so tiny I was going to leave them in the cup a bit longer before planting. Next time I think they will stand a better chance in the ground.
I think I have some more seeds. I'll have to look. If so, I'll start some for you.
Thank you!
And just in time for Purple Day for TCU! LOL!
LOL Sheila! I hadn't even thought of that!
Where are your pics of your pretties?
Beautiful blooms, Sheila! My black eyed susans are getting ready to burst forth! Can't wait!
Thanks. This heat is bad on a lot of stuff but the BES love it.
So much of my time is devoted to watching butterflies and taking their pictures that the blooms get forgotten.
That is just the way the butterflies like it!
