Unfortunately, I cannot identify this spider because of the manner it was positioned for the photograph. If you still have it, please turn it over and photograph the top side; showing its eyes if at all possible. The only dangerous spiders in your area that has this general appearance are the recluse spiders (Loxosceles sp.). and unlike similar-appearing spiders, only have six (as oppose to eight) eyes - see http://tinyurl.com/24kzksc for an image. Also, these spiders are not nearly as common in Florida as anecdotal reports would seem to indicate.
