I understand this is very blurry and dark, but could you please give me an idea of what this is? He was about an inch up and down, across he was smaller, pretty slow and made a nasty brown mess when I killed him. He's black like the picture shows. Sorry about the quality again.
This appears to be a cobweb/comb-footed spider (family Theridiidae). This the family to which the widow spiders (Latrodectus sp.) belong, but this one more likely is in the genus Steatoda (see http://tinyurl.com/2bwo4l2 for an example).
