These bugs are only found on my trumpet vine and do a number to the leaves.

It’s difficult to be certain, but you may have more than one species of leaf beetle (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) in the subfamily Hispinae - see http://tinyurl.com/2ffz5yg for an example. Regardless of their specific identity, any homeowner-use pesticide registered for use against chewing insects should control them.
