We saw this little guy on my squash plant yesterday but can't identify him. He doesn't look like a squash bug so I'm not sure if I need to be worried that he's damaging my veggie patch. I have other veggies nearby, cucumbers, watermelon, peppers etc. We live in Atlanta, Georgia. Please let me know if you can identify him. Thanks!
CLOSED: Critter on yellow squash plant
This is a 'good guy' (or gal - difficult to tell); it is an assassin bug (Hemiptera/Heteroptera: Reduviidae) in the genus Zelus - see http://tinyurl.com/28cx3b4 - they are active predators on many other insects.
