she is eating from a bottle now... and once Lily heard her crying she came and scooped her up and put her back in the box with her.. I will take that as a good sign

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

awwwww

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Yay!!!! Yes, good sign!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I think I am bordering delirium

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

Congrats!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

finally got some sleep... all the pups look comfy ... amazing how little sleep Lily has had.. cat naps here and there... someone squeaks and she is right on it... I forgot to tell you guys I found another use for my seedling heat mats... LOL.... nice and toasty with that under the box.. I read to keep it 80 - 85 for the pups.... they are working perfectly

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

more good news... she is nursing off Lily.... figured I would still hand feed her maybe every other feeding to make sure she is getting enough to get strong

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Awe, perfect!! So glad she's nursing!!!
Never thought of my heat mats, used a heating pad when Terra was born....she was the runt too.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

my heating pad turns it's self off after a certain time ... was ok when we are awake.. had to get the fancy one right????

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Congrats, Allison! Poor Mommy must be so drained. At least the pregnancy was not very long.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

thank goodness... she is only eating wet food... my guess is she thinks she doesn't have time to chew dry food... going to get some wet puppy food today

Isnt too early to start them eating solids? Hey what do I know never had a dog that had puppies.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

sorry yes it's too early for the puppies.. giving the puppy food to Lily... she won't be able to keep up feeding all these guys without something with tons of vitamins ... the vet told me we have to watch her calcium to make sure it doesn't drop too low... causes lots of problems if it does... going to see if he wants to supplement her today too

Thomaston, CT

Wish my ob/gyn took care of me as well as Lily's vet!

Woodstock Valley, CT(Zone 5b)

Crash & Spooky love each other.....my 2 cats never fought, but never were friends....Pip would sleep on top of the wolfhound. Miles, Bella is keeping a wary eye Nikki!

Love his eyes!!

Poor Lily, give her a big hug for me!!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

love that shot of Crash!!... and she earned way more than a buck... all I had though... Michele wanted a shot for size comparison

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Allison, they are sooo cute, tails docked already??? Why not leave them?

Great shot of Crash.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

yeah 2 or 3 days old is the best time to get them done... they would not look like a yorkie with a long tail... I have seen a few and they look funny... it just doesn't work

Thomaston, CT

Keeps them neater looking.....I can't imagine a long tail on the dale.

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

And yet they leave tails on danes - or table-sweepers as they are also known.

Maine, United States(Zone 5b)

Congrats on the pups, onewish. I hope they will all thrive...they are certainly cuties. I have to say that I do hope our country one day gets with the program and bans tail docking and ear cropping like many other nations (UK, for example). There is a boxer in town here that still looks like a boxer, even with a tail. I'm sure it just takes some getting used to.

Victor, that is a fabulous shot of Crash.

My poor Mickey is a mess right now. His inverted tail is all inflamed- on the subject of tails, I dearly with Boston Terrier breeders would start breeding for longer tails, for the health of the breed). Bostons are supposed to be born with short tails but many now have shorter and shorter ones as breeders strive to produce short backed dogs. And he's in a cone because he has a small eye ulcer. I don't know how I've managed to go ten years with Bostons and not have an eye issue, but I guess my luck is up.

Thanks, nor. Hope Mickey feels better real soon!

Maine, United States(Zone 5b)

Thanks Victor, he's doing good. I had to take him to the e-vet on Sunday, which was a first for me. Luckily the bill wasn't too bad. I have to take him for a recheck with my vet on Friday. Here he is a few weeks ago, looking like the handsome troublemaker he is.

My older boy Seamus and over his shoulder, a little chipmunk friend. The chippers in my yard are brazen, and my dogs are useless for scaring them!

Cute shot! E-vet means emergency vet??

Maine, United States(Zone 5b)

yeah, emergency vet. The only other time we almost went was Mickey got stung by something and his face puffed up so bad he looked like a Shar-pei. That was fourth of July...because that stuff always happens on holidays or weekends! Luckily we had Benedryl on hand and it took the swelling down very fast.

Thomaston, CT

Your Bostons are very cute....if you want a dog with a tail, try an Irish wolfhound....what a weapon....and she used to run to the mudroom where the washer & dryer are to await a visitor, & whang that tail against the dryer. Deafening. But the good part is she rarely barked.....my German Short haired cross barks constantly & shrilly.

The seniors got out of school on Tues. They drive home in all kinds of ways , showing off. DD decided to ride Alice home. This is in front of the school.

Allison - I've been off com for 2 days and have just seen that Lily has had her puppies!! OMG are they cute! Congrats to you all, and please give Lily and each little one a hug for me when they are up and about! I'm so happy to hear Lily has accepted her little one after all. You must be so tired but excited!!! So happy all is well!

Woodstock Valley, CT(Zone 5b)

Victor, crash and spooky are very cute...boys I take it? They seem to be more laid back than girl kitties...and Robin, you are right, Bella is on the watch for a sudden attack I think!
