Marilyn - Our golden was very afraid of storms, and my son's dog, Donnie, is also. It's not fun when they are so frightened. Thankfully our girls didn't make a peep last night. Unfortunately the lightning took out our 3 phones ....again! That makes 3 times since the beginning of last summer. I just came back from buying another phone set. ugh! The phone guy just arrived to check it out. Annoying. We unplugged everything except the phone....duh....when we saw how violent the lightning was. I was cowering under my pillow while the girls slept like the babies they are! I guess they got used to it in Florida. Pretty smart dog to settle on the bathtub! LOL
You are sooo lucky, Louise! What good little girls! Of course, not so good about the phones....you live up high on ledge like I do....I've lost a water pump, computer, & dog fence to lightning strikes.
Yup...we can add our washer/dryer to the list as well. I asked the nice phone guy if he could give us some advice to prevent it from happening again. His answer, "no". I guess we'll just keep up the inside wire maintenance charge at this house. LOL
too funny Sherrie.... my dads dog used to squeeze behind the toilet during storms... Jily will crawl up on one of us during thunder.. usually sits on my shoulder ... it doesn't effect Lily one bit
What about a whole house surge protector? I think the install them in the electrical pannel box.
Hmmm....that sounds like something we should check out, Memory. Thanks for mentioning that. As it turned out, we are without phone again today. They all worked when the guy left, but nada this morning. Great timing for a repair call...."Yes, of course we can hang out at home all Memorial Day weekend waiting for a repair person to come and repair what the repair person did....no problem...." LOL
