CLOSED: Two Spiders

I'm pretty sure the spider with the yellow marking on the abdomen is a bowl and doily spider, but don't know the id of the second spider (if, in fact, it is a different spider - are they just different looking because they are male and female). Also, they stayed together in the web most of the day. Mating, fighting, or just visiting?

These are indeed a mating pair, but I suspect that they may be filmy dome spiders (Neriene radiata) - see http://tinyurl.com/298oj6c - rather than bowl and doily spiders.
