My giant sized Amorphophallus paeoniifolius has finally collapsed. I'll leave it a while to go completely dormant and then I'll weigh the tuber. It was 2.016 kg at the start of the season. Most of the rest of my A. paeoniifolius are also going dormant along with the A. galbra. The others, A. prainii, symonianus and bulbifer went dormant a while back.
Tropical Garden #73
It's a nice Cycad Dutchlady. The caudex (trunk) has small constrictions at the end of each growth spurt. First time I saw the cataphylls I thought the plant was developing a cone. That was until the new fronds emerged from it.
My Hoya pubicalyx it getting very high up in the tree and seems intent on going even further. At least the peduncles usually hang down a long way. On the left you can see the Climbing Bamboo winding up one of the palm trees.
The water plant is Thalia geniculata.
Hello Everyone.
Dutchlady1, that is another fantastic picture. I have never seen one with those colors before.
RachelLF, Love your pictures!! The morning glories were new seeds from e-bay, I will defintely save seeds from those.
My new Anthurium Upalaense was all potted up and ready for the nice rain we got yesterday. Thanks again.
Hey Vossner,
I'm happy to report that Clematis you gave me (the bell shaped one) is showing buds. Will take photos, am excited!

randy, I think the dahlias came from here. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1045521/.
I signed up on your behalf and dropped them at your doorstep. Clematis is c. pitcherii. I always worry when I share this clem b/c it sulks for up to 2 weeks. it sulks so badly that I'm sure recipients wonder why I gave them dead plants--then it surprises you and starts growing like it's always been in your garden. Quite the diva. I read somewhere that it was an endangered species but don't know how accurate that statement is.
We had 6" of rain over the weekend, long overdue. Everything looks perked up, like it does after rain.
