Good morning all. Recently I purchased a packet of Balsa tree seeds through Amazon. Both my mother and I were totally surprised when I received them because you almost needed a magnifying glass to see and distinguish the 10 seeds. In any respect we planted 7 of the seeds in a pot and so far there has been one tiny little seedling growing with 2 tiny leaves --- probably a 1/4 inch wide --- very small. I have been through the various sites google has offered on the subject and I see nothing definitive about Balsa seed germination. I therefore decided to google "Balsa seedlings" and can find nothing. Can anyone lend some advice as to how to germinate these seeds? I realize the "plant" would need to come into our greenhouse in the winter. And, finally, if the seeds don't take, is there a relatively inexpensive way to purchase balsa tree seedlings??? If anyone can help I would really appreciate you also sending an email to me at jhuscha@verizon.net in addition to your advice on the forum itself. Thanks ----- John
