We just came back from two weeks in the Wine Country. This was my first visit to the Mendocino Botanical Gardens, we missed it the last time we visited up here. The rhodies were spectacular and my non-gardening DH said if we lived closer he would want to come visit all the time! Much of the 47 acres is left wild, with trails going all the way down to the ocean. The cultivated areas are lovely and varied.
I made a slideshow of the best photos I took. Not all the plants were labeled, unfortunately, but I noted the IDs where I could. (Note: Photobucket has restored the missing photos and the show appears intact again. Any problems, pls drop me a D-mail and let me know, thanks!)

Mendocino Botanical Gardens - slideshow of my visit
Beautiful!
Gorgeous, it's been a few years since I visited and just last week I told my Mom I would take her there soon since she had never been there.
It's been years since I have been there also. Thanks for sharing!
Outstanding! Excellent presentation. Thanks for sharing.
Nice show. Be sure to visit Hortus Botanicus next time you are there. They have a wonderful selection of plants in a lovely setting. If your wallet can handle it, you can bring them home with you. http://davesgarden.com/products/go/view/2380/
As you can see by the photos, I've been there!
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing. :~)
Great slideshow! i really enjoyed all your pictures! THANKS
I finally got all my notes organized and edited it down to a reasonable length. Here's the description of our trip that I posted to the Travel forum:
