I have three Birch trees (Betula jacquemontii) in my back yard. They are about three years old, planted as 15 gallon size. Two of them seem to be growing normally, but the third one is not.
Last year the third one had burnt leaves while the other two did not. This year the leaves on the third one are much smaller except at the lowest part where they are normal size.
All three have the same growing conditions although I may have overwatered the third one. I use drippers and it had four 2 gph running for 30 minutes every three days. This year I took one off so now there are three drippers. That may not be the cause of the problem I don't know. It seems like maybe it has been under stress. Just a guess! No borer signs plus I am using Bayer 12 month Tree and Shrub Protect which protects against borers.
Any ideas?
