Well, here come some of my pictures, i will have to do them in installments since i have so many.
Please forgive me if i don't remember some of the names.
Here are Stephanie and her husband at the sign in table. They were helping Sheila.
N Central TX RU Pics
Sheila's friend, David, reminds me so much of Dennis.
Yes, it may be because David R., and Dennis are both tall and slender. I want to thank all of you that traded and shared plants with him and made him welcome. It was his first time to come and I couldn't spend much time with him and had told him very little about what to expect. He said he enjoyed the day and meeting some of you.
I enjoyed David also! and he looks like someone I know too.
He had some really nice plants, too! I got some purple lyre leaf sage from him. It's doing great already in my flower bed.
I know he would be happy to know that.
I am sorry I haven't finished my pictures yet, I have been running in a few directions at once.
Hope to get them done soon.
I wanted to get by Molly Hollar plant sale yesterday but tied up, do hope it went well.
i've enjoyed the pics--fun to see everyone again! and maybe -just maybe- i will be able to remember a few names this way!
Yes Sheila, the event went great, not a hitch, but there were three other events going on yesterday and the attendance wasn't good, nevertheless it was a good day.
Lori came with a friend and bought quite a few plants.
Josephine.
Ralph & I REALLY enjoyed meeting everyone! He hit is off with Frank & now Ralph wants to get more involved! hahaha. I thank everyone for the plants I got, they are already planted & I learned a lot of new things!
I love you folks & look forward to doing this again. It's too bad we will be on vacation for the fall swap!
Josephine, thanks for taking the pictures..when I get mine developed I will post them too..only I can't say when that will be!! I have FILM, ya know!!! hahahahahaha
I am glad that those who won the door prizes I brought liked them.. I actually made one & hand painted the other! ( hint hint! hahaha).
I am going away this weekend to do my Emmaus walk at a lake in Denton, so I will be looking forward to seeing the terrain also! We had a butterfly field trip last weekend to the LBJ Grasslands & the wildflowers were gorgeous!!!
I am now in the planning stage of a native Texas garden next year!!!
cindy--
funny about the film joke--my grown kids look at my husband using a regular camera like it is an antique!
my plants are all doing so well! i think having rain and some cloudy days helped but i babied them all too--and i always think of dave's people when i look at them
now i am curious what your gift was that you hand painted
and i am wondering what an emmaus walk is
and i am also wondering what the gifts from the door prizes were that were wrapped in tissue paper and several folks won a few--i never did get to see anyone open them
Linda, those wrapped in tissue paper were the ones I brought. In one of them was a green ceramic vase.. I made that, it's some of what I do in my craft business. The other one wrapped in tissue was a birdhouse. I painted that..I didn't make the house itself, just the design & colors.
An Emmaus walk is like a spiritual retreat...it's called Emmaus after the walk Jesus did. There is no actual walking. A lot of women from all over the area will be there & it's more of an individual thing that we go through. There is no script, etc..we will have speakers through out the weekend. We are not allowed to bring watches, clocks, cameras, cell phones, etc. All the food, etc is provided & apparently it's a BIG deal to go on one of these "walks". When I get back I will try to descibe it the best way I can! hahaha
with my plants, I found I had to move a few around as some were getting too much sun, or shade. I planted most of mine from the swap in containers.
Ralph really enjoyed those brownies!!! hahahaha.. I don't know how many he had but I think it was more than two!! hahaha
He really liked the young man with the gutiar... I don't know if you all know but Ralph works at UNT in the music library... & he is a musician himself. He plays clarinet in our church orchestra. Of course he's been playing since he was around 8 yrs old!!!!!!!! So, anyone he sees playing an instrument he's lured to & sometimes he likes to help them pursue that career!! ( he won't bring it up, but if asked he's more than happy to help). Ralph also has a passion for researching... I won't get started but it's amazing what he can find!! hahahaha
maybe i am thinking of some other door prizes --the ones i am talking about were wrapped in tissue i think but were narrow -almost like if you wrapped up a serving of silverware--
cindy i know i would have loved your door prizes--i just love handmade items--would love to see your work sometime
i love what i did get for my prize--a beautiful rose plant (funny but i actually had my eye on it and was hoping that was what i would get!!)
Those were marking pens of some kind. Deb brought them.
