OOOh...am really liking Josephine! And that inflorescence (?) on the hydrangea is weird....a little alien. Pixie, I'm battling the red devils, too....sprayed the heck out of them a few days ago, & while in my garden just now spotted 3 more.

Great photos, everyone!

I'm putting 'Clematis Asao' (from the end of the last thread) on my list.

'Pee Wee' hydrangea looks like a spent Fothergilla bloom.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes it does. Very weird. Never saw that before. It has at least two of them.

Oh - DUH! I see the foliage now. Hee hee! It is a fothergilla.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

It's growing through the Pee Wee and I obviously forgot about it and did not even notice the foliage. Thanks, WC.

Going to attempt to take pics of everything in flower, post and edit them tomorrow. The *bleeping* aphids are all over my rose buds...ALL OVER...they usually don't show up until the weather evens out. My 'Iceberg' is loaded with buds, but also loaded with the green monsters. I have scapes on more DL's than I can count. So it looks like my peak bloom season may be either later this month, or very early June; can't remember that ever happening. Several of my Iris had buds on them, then the weather cooled and stunted/halted everything, NOW all of the Iris buds have colors coming through. I can't remember the last time I had tulips, daffs, muscari, alliums up, and DL's sending scapes up. The cold weather we had for a few days last week was nice, sorta put the stop to the peonies bursting forth :-)

All of the Hosta are up and open. I might get flower stalks on them before I know it...lol.

Sadly, my 'Azalea: Delaware Valley White" seems to be on its last legs. It thrived for many years (2+ decades ), even with maple trees growing overhead, increasingly blocking the sun.

I think it was its proximity to the road (salt for road treatment in winter), and lack of TLC (my fault) that has it dancing its swan song. I hope I'm wrong, and it makes a comeback.

Lesson learned: I shouldn't take reliable shrubs for granted.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Nice pix everyone

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I agree Thom... so many plants are out of whack... Boston my neighbor would tell you don't give up on the azalea just yet.. give it some more time

Those are lovely Ge! I cant wait for mine to start blooming. I still have Daffs in bloom, tulips too....some have not even opened yet!!

This Daff is Tahiti and the pictures in the book show it to be much more of an orange color in the middle. The first year or two it did seem darker, but it may have been because it was cooler weather than now. Anyways, it lacked appeal to me this year as the contrast was not so noticeable.
