I thought I would share this article as it was fascinating how beneficial this tree is. I think I would like to try to grow one of these, so I will be googling to see more info. This is the OTHER Dave's garden site. Have not ordered plants as they are a little pricey for small pots, for me, but he has some excellent articles.

Neem tree
Wow, who knew? Here is a site that sells all sorts or byproducts that they started after starting their Neem tree nursery only 18 years ago.

I'd like to get a Neem tree, but they aren't selling them right now due to the freeze they had in Cental FL this year. I did sign up for the newsletter.
QG, do you remember how much they were charging for them? DH is interested too! : - O
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. : - )

No, I did not see that on their website, tried to find a place closer to home with them, but, alas, no. Did find another 'local' nursery though. It is McCabes and is at their home in the DeLuz area of Temecula. They grow and sell plants that are native or suitable for this area.
I haven't heard of that nursery. I'll ask DH if he has. Often the nurseries can and will order plants for you. : - )
Thanks for the info, QG.

We've disabled the purchase option but the cost of trees will be $24.99 when they're available again.
We've disabled the purchase option but the cost of 4 seedlings will be $39.99 when they're available again.

Hi SW,
what is WIB?
Hi lovetropics,
I love 'em too. : - )
In answer to your question, WIB means Walk In Beauty. It is a phrase that I borrowed from my Dinee' (Navajo) friends to use. (Okay, it's paraphrased.) To me it is both a Reminder and a Blessing. : - )
I'm sending the poem/prayer.
Navajo Prayer
In beauty may we dwell.
In beauty may we walk.
In beauty may our male kindred dwell.
In beauty may our female kindred dwell.
In beauty may it rain on us.
In beauty may our corn grow.
In beauty all around us may it rain.
In beauty may we walk.
The beauty is restored.
Hozho
(Hozho, means all that is good, favorable, desirable, beautiful, pleasant, peaceful and harmonious; it also refers to those qualities and conditions in which they exist, and our desire to attain that state .)
Hope it helps answer your question. : - )
Walk In Beauty!

We have neem trees here thanks to a kind American who was here about twenty years ago.
The seeds germinate easily but have a short viability period which is why so few vendors carry the seeds.
If someone will remind me in November, I'll do a mailing (for postage) of seeds when I'm in the States then.
The trees grow quite rapidly.
katie
katiebear,
Thanks for your imput. I'll try to remember to let you know in Nov. I have a bad memory, but I'll try.
Thank you for your generous offer.

singingWolf,
thank you so much for that poem. I have been trying to make this a tagged page but unfortunately crashing my computer each time. I now simply bookmarked this thanks to Kaiebear's post.
I plan to print that poem and pass it on to my friends.
Have a blessed walking.
Believe me when I say that I do sing my thanks and freely send my Blessings (such as they are), and prayers out to those who need them and back to the land. I am most Blessed.
Feel free to share the poem. : - )
I know the Elders will be pleased. : - )
