I'm still trying to picture the horses in their touques, tougues, tuques...
Pretties
My DH is an aficionado of touques, tougues, tuques. But then he is a bald guy from New Jersey.
LOL
That's funny because you do see it spelled "touque" throughout Canada. I think I just call them woolly hats. :-)
Do they wear them under their regular Mountie hats or instead of?
The guys I saw were wearing them without Mountie hats. I'm going to ask them about them this summer when I stop to pet their horses at the Stampede grounds.
How unprofessional!
I think they should wear the big brown hats all the time. But they only do with their red serge. I guess cuz the big brown hats would get caught in the trees if they were running after bad guys in the wilderness. I thought the touques, although different, looked very ninja ^_^ Maybe only the mounties on supersecret missions get to wear them but then it's not very supersecret to wear the rest of your uniform with the touque, is it? The yellow stripes on your pants sorta gives you away. What a complex befuddlement!
I think that most of the Mounties become Mounties so that they can wear the hat and sing the lumberjack song. :-)
Dahliadearnut, how is the flock under your shed?
Well my true luv is beside himself. I had to declare that they came back and as y'all know he is convinced he is going to get pffffed. I have had no contact with my flock which is the way of my flock IF they are making babies ^_^ ^_^ ^_^ Also we had a howling 60mph storm and we are snowfull so hopefully the flock is snug under the shed. Dear Claire I don't liking talking about my flock cuz their kind have preyed on dear Cousin Grow's eggs :( My flock is a city flock but not a good flock outside of a city. However I will announce the birth of Stinky and Apple Blossom if they are birthed ^_^ Tis all the fault of business. My flock was living happily in a test nursery near the reservoir until they ripped that out and put in more buildings. Now they are just looking for a new home. Most have passed by and moved down to the river but obviously Peppy and Peppermint remember the fruits I fed them and have decided to be my flock. I am POOFING with pride to have a flock even though they are not a very nice flock sigh.
Poor Dahlia!! LOL
Yupper flock conflicts are tough dear Wren. Only Dr. Doolotz would ever ask about my flock. I TOTALLY understand why that is and I am so on board! But that's why we luv Dr. Doolotz so. She is multidenomiflockinal.
Cousin Catscan you should be in Paris or Milan. Have you considered design?
Cousin Catscan - I am not sure that discerning is the word I would use. Dysfunctional maybe. I think it is unseemly to suggest that the Royal (ROYAL!) Canadian Mounted Police should wear skunk pelts. Have some decorum, my dear!
Dahlianut, do not fret about the eating habits of the flock. I have a raccoon (not a flock member) who sometimes gets some of my duck eggs, but we live and let live. As long as he doesn't take the chickens, it's OK. I think your flock is very nice and special because nobody else has a striped flock and it is only right in your urban situation that you should be entitled to a flock. I think you should start voice lessons with them. The singing skunks. Yes, it would be very lovely. Little sparkly singing from under your shed. Squeeee!
Just don't let them get into Yasmin.
Yasmin Claire is not allowed to go outside by herself cuz my flock is not the only ones who would yarnagenap her! The last time we did a walk about together in the garden a big male robin stalked us :O
Awww...depriving widdle baby wobins of widdle bits of sparkwy yarnage for their nesty-westy....
