This is on the neighboring property and seems to be coming our way. It's about 4 -5 ft. tall. Know what it is?
What is this spreading shrub?
Looks like sweet spire.
I'm thinking Choke Cherry Prunus virginiana
Resin
I'll have to keep an eye on it. I don't recall that it had berries but we do have a lot of birds which would account for its spread.
Thank you very much!
Is it real fragrant?
No, just kind of a 'honey sweet'.
I have that as a hedge on the seashore. It attains about 7 feet here in the Pacific NW. It is vigorous and kinda rampant but has not spread too much. Makes a good windbreak for us.
It also makes great weiner sticks! ha
I'll keep that in mind when I need 'weiner sticks'. LOL
