Wow, pretty impressive change in just a few weeks!

Huffman, TX(Zone 9a)

My wife and I are taking a well needed day off I think I hurt all over more than any place else. But back to work tomorrow. There is a fence to build around my hay bale garden and I am building a bar b q area with the rest of the sandstone I have. Dang am I really retired, I may have to go back to work to get some rest. Its like I told my neighbor who retired just before me (and thinks I'm nuts) I wouldn't do it if I didn't enjoy it....Ron

looks great and I bet it was easier not dealing with the weed cloth...(S) it will be more beautiful when it fills in.....

Yes blkraven the weed cloth is outa here I still have a bunch of mulch and as the plants get bigger I'l add more mulch. I really am glad I opted out thank to your suggestion. I picked up a couple of fox tail ferns today I'll plant somewhere in the beds also a Starfruit tree and a Papaya tree I'm gonna try to grow these in pots in the greenhouse along with a pinapple guava and a chilean guava. This way if we get a freeze I can move them inside, I lost all of my ctrus trees last year and not happy about that. I have several new projects in mind now but now I rest with a nip and a nap...Ron

all of the gardens look so pretty --mine look wild and crazy! but i might get it under control when i am off for the summer--i think with a love of gardening you never do run out of projects!!
and i love this time of year with so much rain and green and promise!

rain ???you have rain??? send some my way!!!

Huffman, TX(Zone 9a)

Boy I agree about the rain we havn't had any in a while and we have a bunch of trees we planted this year. We are dragging hoses all over the yard trying to keep them alive. We have allready lost a few to the lack of water and the deer have trimmed a few.A friend of mine is bringing me a electric wire box. I am going to run a hot wire around the yard for a while to see if I can't stop the deer untill this little puppy gets old enough to run them off. But we still have to water and water luckily I have a pump that pumps water from the lake to a couple of hose hook ups in the yard. One close to the veggie garden and one that goes out in the yard so it saves me a little on the water bill plus it has more nutriants than tap water does. I guess thats the way it is here in Southeast Tx. its either feast or famine when it comes to rain.......Ron
