Blowfly / Bottle Fly, right
I've always called these green insects Bottle Flies.
I did a little research and find they are scientifically called (Lucilia sericata)
I'd read that their maggots are beneficial in consuming dead tissue of a wound, while leaving healthy tissue alone.

CLOSED: Blowfly / Bottle Fly, right
Although this indeed appears to be a blow fly (Diptera: Calliphoridae), I have my doubts about it being Lucilia sericata - see http://tinyurl.com/268nlaq for an image. There are several other species with a similar appearance - see http://tinyurl.com/22u5f9y - so that making a positive i.d. from a photographic image can be risky.
I see what you mean. There are quite a few in genera Lucilia. And when you throw in Phaenicia it makes it even more complex.
I reckon I'd best stop at saying it is a blow fly - Diptera: Calliphoridae.
Thanks
